About EpiFinder

Our Mission

EpiFinder mission is to reduce misdiagnosis and disrupt health care. Our proprietary software (in research and development) aspires to provide a screening tool for neurologists who want to know more about and effectively diagnose epilepsy syndromes at the point-of-care. EpiFinder has a university-based internship credit program for intern team members. We collect symptoms and map it to our evidence-based algorithm, which provides the most likely differential screenings of epilepsy and decreases the rate of misdiagnosis.

EpiFinder’s mission is to combat the global issue that is epilepsy. Through our healthcare software innovation, we hope to bring awareness to an underfunded community while changing lives. Every 2 minutes, someone is newly diagnosed with epilepsy. We make epilepsy more manageable by improving diagnosis, patient compliance, and daily lifestyle care.

Our Technology:

1. Diagnostic App: The flagship product is an mHealth application that utilizes an epilepsy-focused ontology and heuristic algorithms to analyze patient data.

2. Clinical Accuracy: In a study conducted with the Mayo Clinic, the EpiFinder app correctly identified epilepsy or provided an accurate alternative diagnosis in approximately 86–87% of cases.

3. Target Users: While designed for doctors to use during consultations, the tool is also accessible to consumers to help manage and communicate their symptoms.
